About | Information | History | Online | Facts | Discovery
This video is a demonstration of the SPG-3000 Solar Power Generator built by Arc Solar Systems. In this video we show how to operate the generator as well as demonstrating what appliances and electronics the solar powered generator will run. In the final segment of the video we test the solar power generator on a five day camping trip.

Inverter with a few batteries!

In my opinion, one way to conceptualize the difference between this system and a gasoline generator is to appreciate that this system simply takes much longer to "fill the tank" from an "empty" condition. Consider this: as long as the solar generator's battery can provide current to operate the inverter at the required output, the system will utilize that energy to provide current up to the rated output of the inverter. In the same way, as long as the gas tank has fuel enough to operate the gasoline generator's engine, the gasoline generator will be capable of providing current up to the rated output of the inverter attached to it. The difference is that you can, in a matter of less than a minute "recharge" your gasoline generator whereas it takes many hours to recharge the Solar powered generator. Consider a different perspective: If you were to restrict the filler-opening of a gasoline generator such that the fuel flow rate into its tank is comparable to the recharge rate on a Solar generator, the two device would function virtually identically. Both would be capable of operating at peak capacity until their respective fuel supplies ran-out. Then, one would have to wait until those supplies were refreshed to begin operating again. The additional battery pack he added in the system would be analogous to bringing a "jerry-can" of fuel with you for your gas generator. This solar generator system is no scam. In fact, I think it's quite nicely done.

LOL..totally saw the hand behind the lazy susan spinning it

Is your 3000 watt inverter pure sine wave?
-
Where is the Binford Model 6900 turbo system?
-
I would like cost information on your ARC Solar System Generator.
e-mail wogm@att.net thanks, Robert Shaw -
Hey is there a way to contact u guys if we were wanting to buy one anytime soon???
-
I haven't see your price yet great video well done I really like your equipment you built it has really inspired me I couldn't never have made something as nice as this though thanks for the video Jared.
-
Are you using pure sine wave or modified for the computer?
-
Okay, so it can power these things one at a time, but for how long before the power is completely discharged?
-
can you put on this hps 400watt lamps for 12 hours every day???
-
Hmmm, something doesn't add up here. You have a 3000 watt system and it's being recharged by a 275watt solar panel. This would take a very very long time to fully charge your battery.

You can run anything off a 12v battery generator although the one you see here is way to small to run a food truck, depending on size what your going to run fridges/heaters/blenders depends how many batteries you need also how your going to charge the battery eg. hard wired into the truck or solar etc..
-
this application would be ideal for mounting on top of a class B or C motor home and being able to live off the grid without the use of shore power hook-ups, in fact it would even run the A/C unit... ideally on cloudy or rainy days running the engine to charge the packs would be perfect

I Thought Solar Power was Expensive and Complicated I just have to say: Earth4energy blows the other guides out of the water! You have a really good product here.Catch the method here. ABOUTSOLARCELLS.COMXA.COM

It depends on the appliances. Take a look at the tag to find out how much power each appliance uses and add the numbers together. Also depends on other factors like are you going to use the R-E-A-I-C System option. This adds more batteries and greatly increases the stored power which increases the amount of time you can run your appliances. Another factor is whether you are making power at the same time (when the solar panels are collecting energy). Thanks, Jared Broadbent

would this be able to run the appliances inside a mobile food truck?
-
Hello, I looked up the specs on the link you sent me (Simer 2825SS - 10 GPM 1 HP Stainless Steel Portable Transfer Pump). This pumps draws about 15 amps of current and uses a 120 volts, so yes the SPG-3000 should run this pump just fine. The questions that remain are long would it need to run continuously and how often it needs to be run. The amount of sun you can get daily, and whether you are using the R-E-A-I-C System (additional batteries for more stored power) would also be factors. Thanks

Will your system run this pump? waterpumpsdirect.c o m/Simer-2825SS-Water-Pump/p5555.html
