Most every advanced ancient culture developed around astrological calendars and a kind of celestial personification belief system. Even the oldest cave paintings are representative of astrological ideas and constellations. The great Aurochs bull for Taurus, though obviously it wasnt known as Taurus then, and representations of the Pleiades are common themes some dating back 35,000 years and further and scientists are finding out that the caves were chosen becasue of what day of the year some particular celestial object aligned with the caves opening. Humans realized that the objects in the sky could help them find out where they were on earth when they went on long distant hunting trips, and had to find there way back, and that the objects could allow them to predict seasonal events like when some particular herd of animals was about to migrate through and when certain wild plants were ready to fruit etc... so that they could exploit those resources. This sky-realization probably occurred very early in human development becasue by the time we see the ideas represented in cave art, those ideas are very advanced so they had to have developed much earlier and well before they realized they could convey abstract information to others through graphic communication (cave art). Before graphic communication, people had to transfer knowledge to others by story telling so cultural development was very slow. The more advance a societies understanding of astrological concepts, the more advance that culture would inevitable become. Look at the great Egyptian culture and the Aztec and Mayan cultures and on and on. Astrotheological ideas were crucial to human development.

I couldn't follow the explanation of right angle construction with circle. Also--how could the MAYA KNOW it was June 21st, etc.?
-
U could also tell the time of the day using the sun on that pyramid steps

We're so arrogant. We assume that we are the most advanced civilisation simply because we are the most modern. Our brain size, and intelligence capabilities haven't changed in tens of thousands of years. If we can figure out basic astronomy, mathematics, and architecture, who's to say our ancestors couldn't as well?

So called music is very bloody annoying. Makes it difficult
for the people with hearing problems. Why do they do this? It spoils a good
video and even bad ones. When I strike this problem, I close that video as it
is a waste of my time to try to hear what is being said. -
Who is the guy at 35:09?

More mainstream tripe. The Maya themselves tell everyone that they did not build those structures.

Apparently we are not the only clever ones.ancient humans were advanced too.with no tool, building mechanisms, etc.they had to rely too much on instincts, hard work, pure brain work unlike our computer work nowadays.this just teaches something to present era humans.delivers a big blow to mordern man ego.
