Dr. Amit Goswami discusses some of the ideas and concepts in his book God Is Not Dead: What Quantum Physics Tells Us about Our Origins and How We Should Live. Dr. Goswami's hypothesis is that quantum physics holds the key to all the unsolved mysteries of biology -- the nature and origin of life, fossil gaps of evolution, why evolution proceeds from simple to complex, and why biological beings have feeling and consciousness. In God Is Not Dead, Goswami moves beyond theory and shows how a God-based science puts ethics and values where they belong: at the centre of our lives and societies. He provides a scientific model that steers between scientific materialism and religious fundamentalism; a model that has implications for how we live both individually and collectively. Dr. Goswami is a theoretical nuclear physicist and professor emeritus of physics at the University of Oregon, where he taught for 30 years. Idealist philosophers have clearly shown that there is no reason to default to the idea that consciousness is a function of the brain. Our experience of the world around us can be explained in it's entirety without stepping outside of mind.

Buddhism says, the smallest thing that the universe is made is every where. Any astronomical body, as well as well as the human body is made up of that smallest unit which has an extremely and extremely short t life time. It is born and destroyed billion times makes every thing in this universe and that unit's motion creates the consciousness and it is moving always. So, the consciousness is a universal phenomenon. Buddhism explains the properties of that smallest unit too.
Amrit Goswami is wrong and/or confused depending on what he exactly says. Because, he is dithering when he says it is not an essentially a creator god instead it is quantum consciounsess. -

what good fun! the mere fact that I, you, we chose this video is self determinate sharing peices of common consciousness. ..we all share a universal reality in perception and perhaps the non local consciousness even without meditation..even the Dalai Lama aligns with this thinking.

Not sure yet, but I'll keep my eye on this one. If nothing else, his critics on this page do not seem to be able to do more than question definitions and digress from the point of his supporters, which, in the past, as at times been an indicator of something truly new.
The fact that his supporters are not doing all that much better is beside the point, maybe they are having trouble articulating their point. The mouth can be a small hole to force an idea out of. Or they may not really understand him all that well...Or he may just be a nut.
If you wish, "Flame On!", but I would not be to quick to judge this guy, one way or the other. The increasing lack of absolutes in our world, thanks to people like Einstein, Heisenberg, Godel, Turing, etc. do leave doors open to something along these lines.
Also, when faced with deciding between differing and/or seemingly contradictory ideas from different individuals/groups, all of whom have put significant effort into their conclusions, it is often better to attempt to employ "and" instead of "or". If nothing else, it helps to keep the mind open and flexible.
