Amiga Longplay Space Harrier

http://www.recordedamigagames.org Played By: Eino This arcade game was released for Amiga by Sega and Elite. Amiga version has only 10 stages whereas the arcade version has 18. Gameplay is from the Elite version, but I used intro screen from the Sega version at the beginning instead of the Elite version "HIGH SCORE/CREDITS" screen (same music in both screens). Short clip from the Elite version "HIGH SCORE/CREDITS" screen can be found at the end of this video. I played the Elite version, because ingame music in the Sega version was playing too slow. The game loops to first stage after "THE END" message and I killed myself so I could include "NAME ENTRY" screen. btw. SFX can't be turned off and that's not my voice at the beginning.

Bloody hell only in past few years a small team produced an Atari 8 bit version.
-
I'm sorry but the Atari ST was more "arcade" perfect.... there was never that much space, heck even the poor Amstrad CPC had see-through trees to avoid.......
-
Keep your finger on the fire button while moving round in circles.......complete it every time!
-
Just another port that proves that back in the day, consoles were better than computers.
-
before the Amiga version of Space Harrier was released in 1989 the closest to the arcade version was on the PC Engine in 1988
-
The Amiga's audio capabilities were the best around for years. And that's really the best they can do with the music? Come on! Pretty weak port all over really, but I at least expected decent music.
-
Where? Why in Space Harrier Part 2, of course! They split Disk 1 and 2 into 2 seperate games, hah.
-
I had this on the Amiga, back in the day...and then, after watching other versions of it, I feel let down...only made it to Ida...level 8 that is, not the rematch of the level 2 boss in level 10. Also, the way some of that music seems a bit...misplaced....and really, having the boss of level 7 as the LAST BOSS IN THE WHOLE GAME? What are they smoking? And, the instructions mention level 12 being another bonus, and a fly-helicopter hybrid and ultimate nuclear being as bosses....WHERE?
-
Pretty bad port. the amiga can do better... Damn lazy developers.

8 Bit for each Channel (4 Channels) with Tricks it was 14 Bit (by combination of 2 Channels)
-
@REALSlutHunter I am merely wondering: Did the Amiga have a 16-bit or 24-bit or other audio processor?
-
@dimmddr1 It show's just, that it does not matter, 8 or 16 Bit the Amiga Sounded Great. en.wikipedia.o(r)g/wiki/Original_Chip_Set#Paula
-
@REALSlutHunter How does that answer my question?

This looks like a cartoon! lol I like the Squilla character, but the music sucks. And the constant firing sound is bugging my ass! But at least it was nice and colourful
-
Does the Amiga have 16-bit audio?
-
Music is definately better than the primitive-sounding St version.
-
It's a shame the x68k was never released in the US, it's port was nearly arcade perfect AND had the new bosses from the SMS version...
-
not too shabby. but i preferred it on the Sega 32X. but the hardware on there was a bit more up to date than the Amiga (yes i know the Genesis/Megadrive had the same Motorola Processor as the Amiga).
