Amateur Astronomy 101: Telescope Terminology
About | Information | History | Online | Facts | Discovery
This is the first entry of the Amateur Astronomy 101 video series. In this edition we discuss telescope terms relevant to the beginning astronomer. Having some knowledge of these terms will help you understand the workings of a scope and may help you decide on what type of scope to buy. We talk about aperture, focal length, magnification and focal ratio and how they apply to what you see through the eyepiece.
