I can accept inflation. In fact, I thought it a good idea when I first learned of it, a decade or more ago. What I cannot accept is string theory. .Why? Three words: "crystalline spheres" and "epicycles". In other words..saving the phenomenon. (I think Prof Adams calls it 'curve chasing' in one of his lectures through OCW.

I was thinking about the universe one day when I was a kid, I imagined the universe in it's diameter and area as X. but than I wanted to imagine what's outside of the universe. I thought that the universe and not the galaxy we live in is like a bubble just floating and waiting to pop whilst everything else sticks on it. what I think is stupid is even coming up with an idea such as big bang since for such an event their would be needed matter first without matter there is no space for big bang, so I'd say that the theories of how the universe began should be concentrated on the root cause origin which would be time and matter.

Umm, yeah the "bubble' is also known as the firmament. And you're right, I'd assume there are several different firmaments under what we're now just realizing in our terrestrial creators (aka God). Welcome to reality kids, it keeps getting better, I'm just glad science theory and religious scripture is coming together after all these years, no more stupid "OMG ATHIEST VS CREATION" debates. Finally... (and for the record, I can no longer call myself an atheist, although I'll always remember Hitchens, that guy was a true hero).

Question: If we can see the after glow 14 billion light years in every direction from earth, does that mean we are in the exact center of the universe?

Correction. In the video Allan says that the cosmic microwave background has a temperature of 2.7 degrees. This is not true. The temperature of the CMB is 2.7 Kelvin. Which is -271 degrees Celsius -455 degrees Fahrenheit.

This is Mormon "creationism" thinly disguised as "real" science...this person is not speaking as to establish as a theory as a truth, he is attempting to establish SOMETHING "struck a blow at the BB "bell" and ALL OF CREATION CAME FORTH!!! Total rubish it is currently not possible to see beyond all the stars and every galaxy! Why do people guess at what may be and sell it as fact? I'm not buying it!
