FAQ: https://randomphotons.com/alone Images: http://eol.jsc.nasa.gov/ Music: 'Freedom Fighters' by Two Steps from Hell Editor: David Peterson Serving Suggestion: 1080p, lights off, volume up :) Inspired by a version of the opening sequence of this clip called 'What does it feel like to fly over planet Earth?' (Inspiration: http://youtu.be/74mhQyuyELQ), I tracked down the original time-lapse sequence taken on the International Space Station (ISS) via NASA, found some additional ones there, including the spectacular Aurora Australis sequences, and set it to a soundtrack that almost matches the awe and wonder I feel when I see our home from above. To those brave men and women who fly alone in the night to take us to the stars, we salute you. ----------------------- Sequences: 1. (0:00) North-to-south down the western coast of North and South America. 2. (0:48) North-to-south over Florida, the Bahamas and other Caribbean islands. 3. (0:56) South-East Asia, approaching the Philippine Sea 4. (1:04) Western Europe, from France through Italy, Greece, Turkey and the Middle East. 5. (1:20) Aurora Australis, over the Indian Ocean, approaching Australia 6. (1:36) Aurora Australis, over the Indian Ocean. 7. (1:52) Aurora Australis, unknown location in the Southern Hemisphere. ----------------------- Featured on NASA's Astronomy Picture of the Day! http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap120305.html Explanation from NASA: Many wonders are visible when flying over the Earth at night. A compilation of such visual spectacles was captured recently from the International Space Station (ISS) and set to rousing music. Passing below are white clouds, orange city lights, lightning flashes in thunderstorms, and dark blue seas. On the horizon is the golden haze of Earth's thin atmosphere, frequently decorated by dancing auroras as the video progresses. The green parts of auroras typically remain below the space station, but the station flies right through the red and purple auroral peaks. Solar panels of the ISS are seen around the frame edges. The ominous wave of approaching brightness at the end of each sequence is just the dawn of the sunlit half of Earth, a dawn that occurs every 90 minutes.

This place has so many wonders to see within. I think that NASA cut some of the feed from the ISS at times also. You do tend to get the odd strange thing up in the sky at night I find. It would be nice to see the Earth from space for real.

I wanna know what it sounds like in space
-
pretty but sooo fake.

What a fantastic photoshop :D
-
run this video through a fisheye lens corrector and you'll know the earth is FLAT. You're welcome
-
those shoes of the auroras re cool.

David Peterson Thanks for replying to all the flat Earth morons, I know many of them are shills but perhaps some of those who aren't and aren't completely stupid can stop being deluded.

It is really pathetic and sad that every single one of the top comments has something to do with flat-Earth conspiracy. Couple of years ago, I would watch videos about our beautiful planet and read normal comments about it. Now all you can read on almost every space or Earth video comments is connected to the words flat, cgi and globe.
Why do people even react on those reta%ds who think(or spam) its flat? They are just a mistake of evolution and evolution will take care of them sooner or later.
You have 7.4 billion people on the Earth at the moment. 99.9999% of adults KNOW it's a GLOBE and the rest of them about 100k or less, is just brainwashed reta%ds. It is just the normal statistics of our society and you will always have the top 2% of the population who are the smartest and bottom 2% with mental reta%dation.
It just seems like there are more of them here on the internet because they are flooding the site with multiple accounts since all they've been doing in their miserable lives is spreading the shit on their monitors so they could earn a couple of miserable bucks from youtube views, or not even that. Nobody cares for them in real life, just let 'em drown in their stupidity and don't answer anything.
P.S. If you are reading this comment and you really DO believe the Earth is indeed flat, my advice to you is to not lose your time anymore by commentating here, but go out and find the nearest doct0r or p0liceman and tell them everything you know. They will help you spread your knowledge to everyone else much faster, and release the truth free!!! -

The lightning in the clouds looks so cool

Is anybody realize that the altitude of ISS is only 400km, compared to diameter of earth 12.000km. The altitude is only 3% of earth diameter. How can 3% of height can see almost half of the globe? Can anybody answer this question?
-
amazing not one ship or airplane in any of the video
-
Don't mind me just getting my daily fix of this video
