Every person walking through the doors of an institution that promises an education, expects an education - #DemandYourEducation. Instructors and resources are needed to succeed but, unfortunately, the For-profit Beauty Colleges' Business plan is a plan to Starve Students and Instructors alike from getting and giving that education. When students are purposely and strategically denied an Instructor, they are left with the need to compete for any instructor's attention. While Instructors are then deliberately "overworked and overwhelmed," they do their best to make their own life and workload easier by giving the attention to those students that they most EASILY relate too, leaving students divided, disenfranchised and resenting their fellow Students and Instructors. And, the layer of division systematically takes place. Chaos is part of the "Business Plan" to Profit from students' Financial Aid. #4Profit Beauty Colleges starve students from the education we pay for and they strategically do not "EVER" provide, nor will they ever provide enough instructors, resources, or products. When it comes to “corporate/for-profit schools, there does not seem to be laws or regulations/protections against the deprivation of education. #4Profit Students appear to have NO RIGHTS and Family Medical Leave does not apply to Students .
Students we must come together along with Teachers and organize for Better Education and Better Pay. #StudentUnion for #BeautyColleges everywhere. -
Honestly, I would not pay 20-25k to go to cosmetology school. There is a reason I say this, most people that go to school for hair end up doing something in a another field. Most of the girls I went to school with are doing something else and it's only been 3 years since graduation. My education was paid for by financial aid and I couldn't be happier with that decision, I owe nothing. Looking back, I know now that you can spend plenty of money on education and still come out not knowing enough to survive. You will constantly learn, you just have to get your toes wet. Btw, my first job, I was making 8.50 an hour and then I made tips on top of that. In a non commissioned, non booth rental salon, where you make an hourly wage, the wage ceiling is not very high. I was making more than a stylist with 20+ years of experience ($8), which in my opinion, is like a slap in the face. Just a little bit of a reality check for those considering cosmetology.

GO to school where yo want to work-- If you want to live in the midwest forever-- go to school there. If you want to live in the west go there. If you want to make over 35.00 to 40.00 a year-- go to college and get a degree.

I really enjoyed this video. You did not sugarcoat anything or make cosmetology school sound like some magical land and program. You made everything out like how it's supposed to be. A lot of people do not get that cosmetology school can be filled with so much drama as being a lot of people there are females. I really like what you said about when you realize you did not want to do it because you had to work with so many people and you aren't a peoples person. I thought that was very honest, sometimes I think I am not a peoples person, but I am very passionate about cosmotology as a whole. Thank you so much for this video I loved it, definitely one of my favorites.
