i don't understand why this is copping so much backlash, it's entirely possible we are going to get a good alien movie in the last 30 years and people are complaining that it's not going to be a sequel to that trainwreck of a movie prometheus

This doesn't feel like the classic Alien and the shower scene looks so cliche. Anyway the trailer doesn't seem great at all but I still hope its gonna be a great movie, I love the Alien universe. Wish they made an alien movie similar to Alien 2, a military response to the alien threat.

Prometheus was brilliant. Flawed, but brilliant. I really like the exploration of Man being Prometheus (Greek mythology), the Engineers as 'Gods' who created us, and David the symbol of our creation. David was our sin against the Engineers. The scene with the Engineer was powerful! He stroked David's head, realized that Man had created sentient life (that's the other plot device people have missed!) and became angry and destroyed Man's creation. That's why the Engineers were going to kill humanity, we were getting too powerful.
I feel like I'm the only one who gets this. -
Yeah, let's just go outside and stroll around an alien environment with no protection. Good idea.
