Noteworthy.. I would rate this easily within the top ten pieces of music, of any age, instrument, or genre, that this planet has produced to date. I found my way to it via Yngwie Malmsteen's 'Icarus Dream Suite Opus', which contains a portion of this. I never would have guessed that I could hear a composition and realize that someone like Yngwie Malmsteen (arguably the greatest heavy metal/classical influenced guitarist that ever lived) could barely do it justice. But there it is

This great Adagio should never be disrespected. It is a masterpiece!!!

Despite this being clearly a melancholic piece, it is at the same time one of the most hauntingly beautiful compositions I know of.
