Wow @ $6,201 Canadian - ouch. Isn't there a goto mount for less than $500 that works?

I have a Losmandy G11 and I considering to buy this one once I have more feeback repots and comments about the new buyers. It seems very good and suitable for remote control. Let´s to see what´s happens.

£2600 new at retail, WELL done Sky-watcher, I will be buying one in about 2 years when I have saved the pennies.
-
thanks for upload will be some time and considerably more expensive when it reaches Australia

To be sure, the G42 and EQ-8 have little that is ‘original’. The G42 has some features that give it a unique identity even though it is clearly inbedded in a design culture that is iterative in nature and embraces duplication and retention of non-original features as a matter of course - and usually without acknowledging or crediting forerunners. The EQ-8 also has unique features in this sense. However, the subtly of the differences might elude a rather neglected Joseph von Fraunhofer. KR RJD

Great presentation Robert of what looks like a very sturdy EQ-8 Pro mount! Looking forward to this mount hitting the Astroshops in Europe! RefractorPhill ;-)

Hi. Not really. Even if it's within the 50kg range and is short focus it'll still be too long a lever for the mount to control with worthwhile authority. We've helped a few folk GEM mount truss pole Dobs and frankly the success rate has been uneven and only really workable when the aperture was moderate (sub 250mm). The weight problem is always compounded by the fact that truss tubes nearly always need beefing-up as the truss system expects to encounter gravity from just one direction. KRRJD

No, a 16" Dob is too big, I guess
-
I have a 16" truss tube dobb. Can this be mounted
-
If they get the price right they could have a winner .

Many thanks Robert for the update. Have one on order for my 12 inch Newtonian in my observatory, can't wait. Thanks again.
