A Flock of Seagulls - Space Age Love Song - Live, 1983
About | Information | History | Online | Facts | Discovery
This performance by A Flock of Seagulls was the opening track in their concert recorded live for the "Sight and Sound" TV program. This was where the show was broadcasted live on TV, and also simultaneously on an FM stereo radio broadcast. Very high-tech for the time! And a great gig!

There's actually nothing wrong with the vocal, it's just that the studio version is very heavily produced. If you listen in headphones everything sounds fine, just the volumes are all over the place on this version, but that's the good thing about playing live - it's different every time.

Love the gulls but the singer is shite! Needs to be autotuned...
-
Everybody makes fun of the singer's haircut but my god is the drummers hair fucked up
-
fucking amazing
-
Yikes, does not sound good.
-
The Hit Machine is a curious beast.

Loved it; fuck the perfectionists and elitists. This was just great. Thanks for the vid.
-
gorgeous!

I think the lead singer was just tired or something because I agree he sounds horrible. Other live videos sound quite a bit better but not really great.
-
Did they rehearse this before playing it live?
-
I saw them live at The Lyceum in London and thought they were brilliant.....clearly not this gig!!
-
These guys sound horrible..its amazing what studio can do
-
better studio band than live
-
Trump was cool then
-
Hahaha! They forgot to sing the backup! The bassist was the one who supposed to sing actually. XD
-
if there ever was a need for auto-tune...but the band sounds great
-
Totally fucked it up, out of tune, but still it's just...
-
Great tune and group but the singing that day was not that good.. Maybe he he was tired.
