5 Unsolved Mysteries Of World War II! Description: In a war such as the World War II, it is very easy to miss some of the things that might have slipped through the cracks. The scale and magnitude of the war was such that a lot of things happened and escaped our scrutiny and very few people even care to know what it is that happened. Although we may never know the exact answers to all the occurrences during the WWII, we can at least make theories that could potentially lead to a more specific answer. With this being said, prepare, because here are 5 Unexplained Mysteries Of World War II! Ready? Well, lets begin! 1. Hitler’s Missing Globe In his film, The Great Dictator, Charlie Chaplin is seen dancing with what seems to be a giant globe. This globe was inspired by one that was found in Hitler’s office. However, this globe in Hitler’s office is now missing and no one really knows where it is. Only a few of these globes were produced and they were known as “Columbus Globes” back then. Some of them were given to other leaders of the Nazis and there were only two editions of these. Many of these globes belonging to other leaders have been found but this particular one from Hitler’s office has never been found. There have been claims of it being seen in some places but the stand on which it rests does not resemble that of Hitler’s. To date, no one knows what happened to this great artifact. 2. Glenn Miller Glenn Miller was one of the best selling recording artists during the time of the WWII between 1939 and 1943. A few of his famous tracks included “moonlight serenade” and “Pennsylvania 6-5000”. Once, while he was travelling to France to entertain the troops who were participating in WWII, his plane mysteriously disappeared over the English Channel. There have been several theories about the whereabouts of the plane, with one legend claiming that it crashed as a result of faulty equipment in flight. Still, some people claim that a bomb must have hit it as it flew over the channel. To date, no one has ever truly found out what really happened to the aircraft and consequently to the musician. There have been a few films that try to explain the mysteries but none ever really explains what happened to him. 3. The Body from Operation Mincemeat During the WWII, the Allies wanted to reclaim Italy but had no idea what the best plan would be. So they hatched a plan to throw the Germans off guard by making them believe that they were going to Greece. To achieve this, they planted falsified documents on a dead body that claimed they were headed to Greece. The mysterious body washed ashore and when the Germans stumbled on it and the documents, they knew they had hit a jackpot. The operation named the “Operation Mincemeat” was largely successful but what remains mysterious is the body that the Allies used. The identity on the body was a “Major Martin” but clearly no such major existed at the time. Several theories have tried to explain this mystery but no exact answer has been reached. 4. What Really Happened To Raoul Wallenberg? Raoul Wallenberg was a young diplomat from Sweden. He was known for his bravery that saved the lives of several Jews from Hungary before the Soviets arrested him at the beginning of 1945. What happened to him thereafter remains one of the greatest mysteries surrounding the WWII. The story that the Russians stack with was that Wallenberg died in prison in 1947 in Moscow. For decades, no one has really ever known what happened to this young hero and it seems like this will remain so for a very long time... Hmm. 5. The Amber Room Famously known as the Amber Room, this room was used by Russians tsars to entertain guests. It was a room filled amber panels and gold pieces. For a very long time, it was considered a wonder of the world. During the WWII, the room was raided by the Nazis and from one day to another, this room literally disappeared from the phase of the Earth. No one knows where this room went to although a replica of the same was constructed in 2003.. Raoul Wallenberg actually saved THOUSANDS of Jews. He was [possibly] captured by Russia and put in a gulag, where he survived until the 80's. Raoul Wallenberg's story is heroic and heartbreaking.

Why is Glenn Miller's photo on the "mincemeat" segment? What does a crashed airliner from 1970 have to do with Glenn Miller? Why is Himmler's corpse in the Walllenberg segment? this video needs to be redone. There are plenty of historians online that could help you put this together and do it right. And I think out of respect it should be pulled off til it's fixed! Videos like this can be an important teaching tool for younger people but it needs to be done right. At least the facts are fairly accurate.

This video needs to be re-edited. Your Glen Miller and Operation Mincemeat are backwards.
-
Please. A "mystery" is by definition unexplained.

The gentleman who posted this video doesn't have the smallest idea of what WWII was about. Ask to someone who was there or think as an European, not as an American
