5 Times Games Got Space Really, Really Right
About | Information | History | Online | Facts | Discovery
Popular fiction has a tough time with accurate depictions of space, but some videogames get it really, really right. Let's give them credit. --- Outside Xbox brings you daily videos about Xbox 360 games and Xbox One games. Fa should just equal Fb. If you want the negative, it would have to be Fa - Fb = 0.

ME is perfect that's why

Actually, the heat generated on reentry is mostly not from friction, but compression. When an object enters the atmosphere, the speed and force of the object is such that the air molecules literally cannot get out of the way quickly enough, thus forcing the molecules to actually compress together. Increased pressure = increased temperature.
-
No. Earth's gravity would (theoretically) exert its superior gravitational force to pull the lesser gravity of air molecules back to itself.

More Jane more viewers !!!

You forgot to mention Mass Effect's "If you shoot and miss, you're going to have, at some point in space and time, ruined someone, somewhere's day" quote. (Or however it goes) under the subtitle of Newtonian physics.
-
Yeah because fictional games have to be realistic despite the fact that it's fiction! Who cares? Get over yourself. Damn nerds.

Apparently CoD: Infinite Warfare's explanation for why you can hear things during the zero-g sections is the helmets worn by SCAR pilots have the ability to create artificial noises so when in combat outside of a pressurized, atmospheric environment it's still possible to maintain awareness of one's surroundings.

How would a gun/firearm in a vacuum do?
-
ilu Jane <3
-
I bet Jane loves the space sound effects in Firefly and Serenity

"space is cold" its more of a lack of heat because there isn't anything to heat however a vacuum is a very good insulator and heat dissipation is actually a huge issue. you actually need pretty much no insulation. just a suit to protect you from expanding in the vacuum
-
Space is not cold. Cold is a property of matter due to low thermal energy, and space does not contain any matter. Heat, or "coldness" needs a medium to travel through, and in space there is none. The only way to lose heat in space is through infrared emissions.
Therefore, if not for the lack of oxygen or radiation, you could stay completely naked in space, and it would take you a few days to freeze to death. -
