3D Solar System Map at scale 1:6,000,000,000 (1: Six Billion)
About | Information | History | Online | Facts | Discovery
This video uses 3D animation to demonstrate the astonishing size of our Solar System. The Solar System is way too big to be depicted at scale on a paper map. By superimposing its structure in a virtual 3D environment, we gain an accurate insight into its incredible size. This is real science made simple.

Amazing! Thank you for this illustration! The size of just our own solar system is just mind boggling!

When I saw the scale motion was 70 times the speed of light, that just blew my mind but when you stop and think about it, light from the sun take about 8 minutes to reach Earth doesn't it? This is a very well done illustration of scale and size. I am sharing this with my geek friends.

Hi Ralph. Good demonstration...! but from Neptune the Sun is totaly invisible, do you think that it is the reality with the eyes of a person from this planet ? Or the software is normally limited ?
