This video shows how an asymmetric partial sum of the force contributions of an infinite series using Newton's Shell Theorem in a homogeneous universe leads to an infinite number of different answers. However, the problems of using partial sums of alternating series equations should be recognized as a mistake to be avoided, rather than embraced. I suggest using a method of infinite cylinders which comes to the same answer (zero) every time. Also, I suggest that we invoke a principle "Whenever partial sums of an infinite series are involved in the calculation of a physical force, the infinite series should be calculated from the perspective of the object where the force is applied."
