From a potential cure to HIV to recent space discoveries, here are 16 of the most shocking recent discoveries. Subscribe to Talltanic http://goo.gl/wgfvrr 7. Parallel Universes- Yeah you heard that right. You could potentially have an evil twin running around causing mass hysteria in another world. Just kidding. The results of an experiment, which were conducted by quantum physicists at USCB, states that something could potentially exist in two states(universes) at the same time. This was found when they placed a small “paddle” the size of a human hair in a vacuum within a jar, which they then “plucked” the paddle and it proceeded to vibrate and stand still at the same time...I’ll let you decided on this one. 6. Homo Naledi More like Homo NAILED IT, get it? Because it’s a weird pronunciation but I NAILED it? No? Whatever. Anyways, the new human ancestor was discovered in September of 2015 by an expedition of archaeologists led by Lee Berger. There were more than 15,000 fossil pieces that are believed to be from a minimum of about 15 different individuals all found in the same South African cave and are thought to be an estimated 2,000,000 years old. http://www.iflscience.com/editors-blog/2015s-best-scientific-discoveries-and-achievements 5. Shape-Shifting Frog- So remember when you were a kid and you totally wanted shapeshifting powers? Don’t lie. Well, be jealous of this little guy because that is exactly what he can do. The “mutable rain frog”, found in Ecuador in 2015, can actually change the texture of its skin within a matter of moments from being spiny to completely smooth. 4. Neanderthal Cannibal Attack- The archaeologists who discovered this were probably not expecting to find the remains of a mass murder cannibal feast, just saying. Well, that’s exactly what happened in 2010, when archaeologists in Spain found the bones of three adult males and females, three teenagers, two younger children, and a baby. A BABY. The scientist ruled the attack was from hungry primitive neanderthals. 3. Another Mass Extinction Throughout history, there have been many mass extinctions, five to be exact, such as the asteroid that completely wiped out the dinosaurs 66 million years ago. Though all of those were caused by naturally occurring phenomena, late last year, scientists have recently come to the conclusion that we are in the middle of an ongoing sixth mass extinction being caused solely by us humans. This coming from the same species that made a sandwich using two fried chicken breasts as buns...we are not made to last. 2. Liquid Water Found On Mars- Back in September of 2015, NASA scientist revealed a major breakthrough in the hunt for potential life on Mars by announcing that they had “discovered the flow of water across the planet’s surface from time to time”. The water reflects light waves that were seen through an imager by Lujendra Ojha, who first noticed the light streaks back in 2011. Not only did this spur an insane amount of memes about Mars being wet, but it also can’t help one wonder if life on Mars could one day be possible? 1. Evolving Microbes - Nowadays whenever most people get sick they usually just got to their doctor and get a prescription for an antibiotic, such as amoxicillin. Well, it’s been recently discovered that most patients are being prescribed certain medicines when they really don’t need and instead are helping the bacteria in their bodies evolve. The bacteria then becomes immune to the medication and in the distant future, most strains of bacteria will become resistant to all our modern medicines. So basically in the future, a case of the sniffles could potentially wipe us out, fantastic….

i dont use sinthetic medications, they weaken your natural immunity, id rather get something and deal with it than get rid of it and increase my chance of getting more shit

Sorry, gotta call bulls##t on you. Do you understand what an ibvertebrate! That mini frog is not an invertebrate, it has a skeleton and a spinal column!

Who's that maniac screaming at 3:27

14000 light years away and they will get all excited about it but we can't even get to Mars in any good sense of time. Even at 10th the speed of light it would take 140000 years to get there. and what at the present time we can't even travel .001 the speed of light. But I guess it is okay to dream. And I hope the other me on one of these parallel worlds is a trillionaire and come to this earth and give me a billion dollars (hope there's a known President on the bills.....LMAO

THIS IS CONSIDERED SHOCKING AMONG MORTALS?
WOW, IF ONLY YOU LITTLE FLESH STICKS KNEW WHAT I FIND SHOCKING -
the fourth state of matter is actually plasma but mmmkaay
-
umm 3 liquid solid gas but four is plasma
-
and that's why people are trying to research if we can live in other planets and if there are planets that can support life, in order to last very very long. Humans have progressed alot than other species, humans can think of ways in order to survive and last, humans have become very smart in which humans are researching in order to be prepared for the future...

Frogs are not invertibrates and even if this one was there are much smaller bugs and micro/macro organisms that actually are invetibrates.
-
bacteria doesn't evolve it goes through variations
-
at 0:15 the girl didn't have to take the HIV vaccine because no one would give it to her anyway

The frog you are touting as 'the world's smallest invertebrate' is actually the world's smallest vertebrate. It DOES have vertebra and other bones. The world's smallest invertebrate is probably a single celled animal such as an amoeba or one of a large number of zooplankton - marine animals too small to see without a microscope. http://www.foxnews.com/us/2012/01/12/tiny-frog-claimed-as-worlds-smallest-vertebrate.html

I'm the evil twin

It's almost midnight and I'm in my bed in a dark room with my headphones on max.And that fucking whooah almost gave me a heart attack.

1: Frogs are not invertebrates
2: The Jahn-Teller metal is not the fourth state of matter, plasma is
3: Quantum superposition (being in two states at once) is nothing new, ever heard of the Schrödinger cat?
3.5: it doesn't mean there are alternate universes, just the same universe with the same particles in a different state
3.75: Quantum computers are based of Quantum superposition
3.875: The superimposed state is actually hard to keep due to the interaction with other particles and the fact that to be an evil twin it'd have to observe said universe, which would "lock"/"break" the state
4: That "new" mass extinction is nothing new at all, people have been talking of that since years, if not decades already, in fact, we changed earth so much that an entire epoch has been proposed, the anthropocene, as early as 1960!
5: Again evolving microbes is nothing new, at all, it's been an issue since years already, the only thing "new" is awareness about it, which should have come much earlier, sadly
6: Get your god damn facts right or get out of here, seriously, if you want to do something then do it right, don't misinform people, it's not like it was even that hard, for example, about roughly everybody on earth who saw a frog before knows it has bones, seriously, use your common sense, shame on you -
lol

MEEEEEEEEEEE i heard it

Potentially becoming immune to the positive effects on modern medicine isn't a recent discovery... scientists have been aware of this possible occurrence for over a decade now.
