Everything has been building up to this one moment, and if the writer doesn’t deliver, the movie could be doomed. Audiences love finality in movies, and prefer it if they understand what happened in a film. But sometimes, the conclusion throws them for a loop, and they’re more concerned about figuring out those last moments than anything else. Now im more confused then before

In Birdman I think the point of the final scene is to mock attempts at logical interpretation. Instead, we should focus on the underlying theme of the film which is the nature of art vs. reality. Edward Nortons character is absurd in that he feels alienated from the present, instead he focuses on idealistic notions such as youth, displayed in his conversation with Emma Stone's character. He wants the performance to be real, yet he is unable to fuck her in their apartment. He is living in a fantasy world, just like the protagonist of the film. They are characters. Inarritu creates a film that is captured in a single unbroken frame in an attempt to mimic our everyday reality, but he will always fall short, which he concedes in the final scene. Art is not reality, keaton is playing a character, does he commit suicide? Does he fly?NO! We are all stupid critics, who have no understanding of art, because we want it to be real!!!! That is the point of the final scene.

-
Interstellar was so confusing
-
im only a minute in and i wanna say! I dont care about their point! that's lame! i'd rather a real nightmare then a false dream, so iw anna know if he truly got the ending he deserved! or if he'll forever be in a dream! i'd care if i wasnt actually holding my kids! that's not an explanation!

inception was released 2010

Inception
In all the dream scenes, he's wearing his wedding ring. But reality scenes there is no wedding ring. At the last scene of the movie, there is no wedding ring. So it''s reality.
End of story. -
Y sho tgg if they not gonna show tgg lol

For anyone confused about Shutter Island. He basically kills himself at the end.
-
Wait, so the cops knew that internal affairs were setting them up the whole time?
-
which 1's WORST living as a MONSTER or DYING as a good man..!!!#STTR ILND😎
-
Okay so: Inception.. he couldn't use the top as his totem because it was his wife's. His totem was his wedding band.. always on when dreaming off when not.
Shutter Island : At the end he did not relapse.. he didn't want to keep reliving all the mess so decided to get the lobotomy "Is it better to die a good man or live as a monster "...famous last words to the Dr who as leo was walking away realized himself what leo was doing, that's why he kept calling to him. The Prestige (bc I saw someone ask) :Bale had a twin brother who both shared one life & one dies at the end. -
FUCK YOU INCEPTION😂
-
at the end of inception they just cut it before it starts falling. the director's wanted us to keep in loop. but it's actualy really simple and clear that if cob actually let her wife's memories go from deep of his thought, she could never trap him again in between reality and dream. and that's what he did.
